This morning I was greeted by these brave (and hungry) fellows. You can just see a sparrow on the feeder up on the right, and a squirrel on a post on the lower left.
The squirrel was burrowing in the drifts for the sunflower seeds and peanuts-in-the-shell I put out yesterday. The squirrel would pop up from a pile of snow, looking as if he or she was wearing a little snow hat.
Keep in mind this picture was taken through a window, during a blizzard.
Happy new year!

Makes us think a little bit and be happy to be human, doesn't it?
A blizzard?! Wow! Poor little critters. How nice of you to have food for them.
Happy New Year!
Awwww...snowy visitors! ;o) Happy New Year!
Wow, they must have been hungry!
Happy New Year!
We are currebtly feeding a couple of stray cats. They come up on the deck and just sit there staring at the door, as soon as they hear us moving around. I glanced outside during a heavy snow shower on Christmas Day, and sure enough, there they were. I ended up having to rig up a tempory shelter so they could eat without their bowl becoming covered in snow...
Happy New Year :-)
Makes me shiver just looking at that photo! I do wish we got snow in the winter though - it doesn't feel quite seasonal without it!
Cool pic, Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
Aren't you glad that our food issues don't involve digging through the snow to find something to eat?
Looking forward to the next year of your blogs!
Based on this picture, do not take my advise in this post: http://choosinglosing.wordpress.com/2009/01/03/hey-you-yes-you-you-need-to-get-you/
